I arrived at sage at about 7:15 pm with no reservations but lucky for me they had plenty of seats at the bar. The place is layed out with by level seating. The main floor has a few tables and the bar area the upstairs seats more tables with an open floor plan looking down onto the establishment. At times there is a wait for a table so I would recommend making reservations. The place has a great intimate feel to it with warm lights and great music playing in the background, it definitely takes you to a Mediterranean place.
Sage has a great menu selection from sea food, beef to vegetarian and everything is reasonably priced from $15-25. The dessert menu looked like one not to pass. The wine list in extensive with the option of a full bar where their bartender can make you just about anything to pair great with your starter.
Once seated at the bar I was quickly greeted with the menu and
specials. I ordered a Grey Goose with Grapefruit and started with the Mussels as my starter. The are prepared in a white wine sauce with chorizo sausage it is absolutely delicious I highly recommend them as a starter I could not stop eating them. They are also a great size for sharing.
For an entree I tried the Paella it is a moist paella which is a very nontraditional way of making it however I seem to be more fond of the new that the old as so it was one of the best I have had, the
secret had to have been in the homemade vegetable stock. Another delicious entreé is the Lamb Shack which is served with vegetables. The Lamb is great falls right off the bone and cooked perfectly so it remains tender. The vegetables were seasoned in a way that complimented the lamb.
The service was great through out the meal my drinks were topped off as needed and I was occasionally asked if there was anything else I needed. It was not so intrusive but just attentive enough. Chef Chris even came out to introduce himself and ask how everything was. Ultimately I recommend this place whether you are going out on a date or just having dinner and drinks with the friends, you will not be disappointed.
