What once used to be a garage is now a great breakfast & lunch place. The decor is very simply the open windows always gives the place great natural light and there is always a buzz in this place because it is always busy not to mention the high energy staff that will always greet you with a smile and proficient service. Which can only indicate great management.
The floor plan allows for booths and tables. There is also a counter/bar area for the party of one. The coffee is always smooth and strong served in a mixed-matched large mugs and its own kettle to hold your cream or milk.
Being a regular in this place I have a favorite dish. I create my own omelet with spinach, mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, goat cheese and jalapeno on the side. My omelet is always as expected, freshly made as I order it.
Although most breakfast dishes come with your choice of potatoes, grits or fruit. I instead get the strawberry Belgium waffle. The waffle is crisp with a soft center, fresh strawberries on top and sprinkled powdered sugar. I drizzle maple syrup over it to enhance and combine the rich flavours.
During the week it isn’t rare to see a business meeting taking place at a neighbouring table. During the weekend it’s a very popular brunch spot where friends meet and catch up on last night details and where church goes come after mass. It’s a great diversity in the menu can accommodate what your craving, from breakfast to lunch.
On any sunny day you can sit outside. These tables are first come first serve, outside sitting is pet friendly and there is always a water bowl provided for thirsty dogs to drink out of.
Although J. Christopher’s does not serve alcohol this is not a place to pass up with menu choices ranging from breakfast favorites, to sandwiches, soups and salads and a $$ price range you will not be disappointed.
